The garden was full of activity on Tuesday! From planting "Provider" beans to cultivating, watering, signing, harvesting, and de-pesting the squash! We had a battle with the vine bores, the supposed problem with the squash last year. Many of us performed surgery on the growing plants. One stalk had over 10 vine bores in it. Once the bores were removed from the stalk, they had to be squished. Some were particularly healthy and left their mark by squirting members of the garden as they met their maker and were subsequently buried (as a sign to other potential bores to stay away!)
The harvest was great for the beginning of rasberries, peas, cucumbers, and the chard is in full force! We harvested a lot of beautiful red, yellow, orange, white and an almost purpley colored chard and it will surely taste magnificent!
