Don’t let the snow on the ground fool you – ‘tis the season to be planting! Last night, 12 community gardeners, some old-timers, some new faces, got together and planted our first seeds of the 09 season. These seeds are destined to spend a few weeks in a basement under growlights, then be transplanted and head to the greenhouse when the night temps are warm enough.
Here is what we planted (thanks to Val for great documentation!):
Tomatoes:
Orange Queen – 50 seeds
Yellow Pear Cherry – 50 seeds
Martino’s Roma – 25 seeds
Peppers:
Cyklon – 10 seeds
Ancho/Poblano – 25 seeds
Georgia Flame – 40 seeds
Lettuce:
Cracoveniensi – 8 seeds
Red Velvet – 8 seeds
Green Oakleaf – 8 seeds
Crisp Mint – 8 seeds
Arugula – 8 seeds

Herbs/Flowers:
Chrysanthemum (Edible) – 20 seeds
Green Culinary Sage – 20 seeds
Eggplant:
Black Eggplant – 30 seeds
Florida High Bush – 26 seeds
Broccoli:
Calabrese Broccoli – 34 seeds

The tiny seeds enjoyed a gentle sprinkling of rain water. On April 21 at 6 pm, we'll be gathering again to plant more seeds. Plan to join us!
